Recorded at home between June 11th and August 17th, 2020. About 150 sample sources were used in the making on this album (most of them from beloved movies from the 60s/70s), plus some cheap online apps and a Maschine MK2 for live beats and basslines. I hope you'll find your own meaning in this deeply personal and haunted copied/pasted storytelling so it'll have been worth the stealing.

Same as every previous release, this was already kind of a tribute to Ennio Morricone before the Maestro passed away. "Snapping Back In" is dedicated to him, like most music from the 21th century should be. RIP.

"Il n’y a pas de recette dans l’univers de Konejo mais quelques composantes récurrentes, malgré tout. Les arrangements de cordes soignés soutiennent régulièrement des rythmiques ambitieuses et une ligne de basse, de piano ou des samples vocaux servent d’écrin à un ensemble oscillant entre abstract hip-hop, dark ambient et musique cinématographique. Des samples de cordes entêtants sur "Burning Bridges" à la délicieuse ritournelle mélancolique de "Here In The Dark", en passant par d’innombrables sommets parmi lesquels "Wandering on the Edge" et son piano en contrepoint, les chœurs évanescents de "Unravelling Fate", les constructions à tiroirs autour d’un gimmick au piano entêtant d’un "Neglect" ravivant la tension suggérée des morceaux les plus en retenue de DJ Shadow, les cordes transcendantes et rythmiques fascinantes d’un "Two-Faced" aux influences trip-hop, témoin de l’ambition de cet album, ou encore l’alléchante austérité de "Down Memory Lane", l’immersion est totale d’une extrémité à l’autre du disque."
